Originally produced by the Folger Theatre, Washington, D.C.

Based on the book by Kenneth Grahame, this musical was unconventional and ... a flop. The character of Mole (played by current TV star Vicki Lewis) was changed from a male role to a female role and a romantic involvement between Mole and Rat was devised. Some of the songs were quite good and several cast members received some praise. Nathan got laughs at every turn - a bright spot in a dismal show, according to some.
